Newcastle vs Wakefield fixture moved to Featherstone
Thunder are calling on the whole of the Rugby League family to fill the Millennium Stadium in a very special one off fixture to help support Rugby League in the North East
With Kingston Park unavailable on Sunday 18th February the club have been working to find the best venue for this fixture. As per the RFL rules, league one clubs retain the gate receipts for the 1895 cup group games, with that in mind we have been working hard to source a venue as close to Wakefield as possible so that the game can be attended by as many Wakefield and Rugby League fans as possible.
We can now confirm that this game will take place at Featherstone Rovers Millennium Stadium on Sunday 18th Feb at 3pm. It has been well documented that we are starting from scratch as a club so this game could be an absolute lifesaver, with the ground very accessible for not only Wakefield fans but the whole Rugby League family. We hope that everyone comes out to support this fixture and help secure professional Rugby League in the North East.
Prices for the game are £15 Adults and £5 kids, tickets can be purchased via Wakefield Trinity ticket office or online here. Tickets will also be available from the Millennium stadium on the day of the game in cash or on card. Newcastle Thunder will be bringing our retail range and will be having a special sale on the day selling items from as little as £5 so all RL fans can grab a bargain and help support the club.
To help our loyal fans get to Wakefield we will be running subsidised away coach travel for only £10 per person, this will be available to buy online on the front page of www.thunderrugby.com it would be great to see the Thunder Army down in large numbers.
We would like to place on record our thanks to Featherstone Rovers for allowing us to host a very special one-off home game at the millennium Stadium and to Wakefield Trinity who are supporting the club with facilitating ticket sales and helping promote this special game.
This is where the Rugby League family is truly a special one.
