We are only five miles from Newcastle city centre, three miles from Newcastle International Airport, two minutes’ drive from the A1 and a five-minute walk from Kingston Park and Bank Foot Metro stations.

Driving

Directions from the A1

  • Take the Airport exit
  • At the roundabout take the exit signposted for Kingston Park
  • Go straight over two roundabouts, under the Metro bridge and take the first right onto Brunton Road
  • After 400 metres the stadium is on your left.

PARKING

On non-match days there is ample free parking at the stadium. For Thunder match days car parking is FREE for all supporters and available on a first come first served basis.

Local parking restrictions are in place on the surrounding streets, meaning that anyone parking on the main road or in the housing estates near to Kingston Park Stadium will receive a parking ticket. Please respect our neighbours when driving to events at the stadium.

Park and ride facilities are available at a number of local Metro stations, offering all-day parking. Stations offering park and ride include:

  • Bank Foot (within walking distance of the ground)
  • Kingston Park (within walking distance of the ground)
  • Callerton Parkway
  • Heworth
  • Northumberland Park

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

 
By Metro

Kingston Park Stadium is served by Kingston Park and Bank Foot stations on the Tyne & Wear Metro, both of which are a five-minute walk away. Both stations are on the Airport branch of the system.

Newcastle Airport is just two stops away from Bank Foot station and three from Kingston Park station, with an approximate journey time of five minutes.

Newcastle city centre is approximately 20 minutes away by Metro, which also serves Sunderland, South Tyneside, Gateshead, North Tyneside and the coast.

By Train

For those travelling via the national rail network and arriving at Newcastle Central Station, the Tyne & Wear Metro is the easiest way in which to get to the stadium.

Central Station has it’s own dedicated Metro platforms with Kingston Park Stadium reached via trains headed for “Airport”

The journey takes approximately 20 minutes with the ground 10 stops away from Central Station and a further five minutes walk from your chosen alighting station.

Alternatively, a taxi rank is available immediately outside of Central Station, with the journey lasting approximately 10 minutes and costing around £10.

For those arriving via the national rail network into Sunderland, direct Metros depart from platforms 3 & 4 on a 22 stop journey that takes approximately 45 minutes.


By Bus

Local bus services operate in the Kingston Park area, with connections including the X47 service to and from Newcastle City Centre.
