Thunder confirm venue change

Newcastle Thunder can confirm that there has been a change of venue for the club’s opening fixture of the Betfred Championship 2026 season. The match will no longer take place at its originally scheduled location and will instead be staged at Avery Fields, the new home of Midlands Hurricanes.

The change has been agreed by all parties, with the fixture details otherwise remaining unchanged. Newcastle Thunder would like to thank supporters for their understanding and looks forward to kicking off the 2026 Betfred Championship campaign this weekend at Avery Fields, as well as welcoming the opportunity to play at the Hurricanes’ new stadium.
