Thunder sign Fiji International, Vuniyayawa

Newcastle Thunder are excited to announce the signing of forward King Vuniyayawa for the upcoming 2026 Betfred Championship season. The powerful Fiji international will bolster Thunder's pack as the new season gets underway in January.
The 26-year-old, known for his hard-hitting style and dynamic ball-carrying, has previously played for clubs including Leeds Rhinos, Salford Red Devils and Hull FC, as well as representing Fiji on the international stage.
“I’m really excited to be joining Newcastle Thunder for the upcoming season,” said Vuniyayawa. “This is a great opportunity for me, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in helping the team achieve success. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club and the support here, and I’m ready to contribute my best to the squad.”
