Thunder squad confirmed for Magic Friday

Newcastle Thunder’s head coach Chris Thorman has today confirmed his 21-man squad for this Friday’s Betfred Championship clash with Bradford Bulls.

Kicking off at 7:45pm, the fixture is the biggest in the rugby league calendar for Newcastle Thunder and acts as a curtain raiser to the Super League’s Magic Weekend at St. James’ Park.

Set for a bumper crowd at Kingston Park, Thorman has named a side that includes a few changes from the Summer Bash clash with Sheffield Eagles.

Both Alex Foster and Marcus Walker return having recovered from injuries and the trio of loan signings in Daniel Okoro, Denive Balmforth and Dane Windrow maintain their spots, with the two latter having featured on the scoresheet last time out.

Dual reg signing Nick Staveley also features once more as well as new signing Evan Simons, who could make his returning debut in Thunder colours having re-signed for the North East outfit last month.

Wing Alex Young could make a feature having only just recovered from broken ribs and university signing Mac Walsh is named once more.
