Moody Cup 2023 entries filling up

Three months to go until Newcastle Thunder’s Moody Cup takes centre stage at Kingston Park Stadium, and you squad can still be part of the action.

What is the Moody Cup?

Thunder Community has teamed up alongside Newcastle Thunder, to bring you one of the biggest grassroots rugby league festivals in the North East. It offers a brilliant action-packed day for players from U7 through to U17.

This year, the junior rugby league festival will take place ahead of Newcastle Thunder’s Betfred Championship game against Widnes Vikings on Saturday, August 5.

The Moody Cup is open to all grassroots clubs from across the UK, and free to enter. Matches across all age groups at nine-a-side, with no limit to the number of players per squad. The perfect opportunity to get as many people involved in the festival.

All participants will receive a complimentary ticket for the Newcastle Thunder game that follows, while spectators can join for £7.

All players, coaches, parents and spectators will be able to enjoy the popular fan zone with live entertainment, and plenty of food and beverage stations, including the famous Kingston Park BBQ.
