Thunder squad named for London Broncos clash

Head coach Chris Thorman has today confirmed his 21-man squad to take on London Broncos at Kingston Park Stadium for the club’s first competitive home game of the season.

The Betfred Championship returns to Kingston Park this Saturday, March 18, with the sixth-round fixture kicking off at 3pm.

London Broncos are the visitors, with Thunder looking to build on a comfortable 16-58 win last time out against Stanningley SARLC.

The squad sees a number of changes from the side that travelled to Leeds for the Betfred Challenge Cup third round tie.

New loan signing Connor Wynne is thrown straight into the mix, taking on the number 4 shirt and is joined by his Hull FC teammates in Denive Balmforth, Matty Laidlaw and Nick Staveley to feature in the 21-man squad.

Thunder quartet of Jake Anderson, Alex Donaghy, Max Flanagan and Nathan Rushworth don't feature and Gideon Boafo, Jake Lightowler and Daniel Okoro all continue to miss out through injury.

Saturday will also see Newcastle Thunder Reserves take to the field, kicking off against the same opposition at 5:15pm. Team news for this fixture will be announced at a later date.
