Thunder draw Stanningley in Betfred Challenge Cup third round

Newcastle Thunder will kick-start their Challenge Cup campaign with an away fixture at community club Stanningley.

The tie will be played on either Saturday, March 11 or Sunday, March 12 with full details including ticketing options announced in due course.

Thunder will be looking to improve on last season's cup run, which saw the side bow out in the fourth round to fellow Betfred Championship side York City Knights. The final score 42-13 at the LNER Community Stadium.
