New strips revealed for 2023 season

Newcastle Thunder is proud to unveil its new kits as excitement builds towards the 2023 season.

Continuing to build on the club’s brand identity, the home strip features the same iconic purple and yellow combination, with the away kit following the same blue theme from 2022 in a nod to Thunder’s heritage.

A modern take on a classic look, this year’s home and away kits are stylised twins and feature a contemporary geometric pattern and modern chevron.

The kit, produced by Macron, also includes Newcastle Rugby’s ‘True North’ emblem. The True North mantra underpins and feeds into the ethos of the whole club and is adapted to each of the brands.

The True North mantra and Newcastle Thunder:

Ownership. Integrity. Legacy.

“The outpost of rugby league, we’re dedicated to the development and preservation of professional rugby in the North of England. We’re committed to finding and developing local talent for the long run, as well as attracting exceptional players and coaches who understand and buy into our ethos.

Being the only professional club in the North East, means we’re able to lead the community game how we see fit. From Alnwick to Yarm, every amateur club is part of Thunder.

We’re working to put strong foundations in place for the talent coming up through the ranks. This combined with our facilities and infrastructure will help us to develop a club which can experience success for years to come.

One goal. One team. We put the North East on the rugby league map.

We are Newcastle Thunder. We are the True North.”

The first outing for our away strip will be this weekend as we kick off our Betfred Championship season at Heywood Road against newly promoted side Swinton Lions.

Our replica shirts will be available to supporters from next week. Stay up to date across our website and social media for further announcements.
