NEWCASTLE THUNDER SQUAD NAMED FOR SHEFFIELD EAGLES

Newcastle Thunder have made six changes to their 21-man squad ahead of the visit of league-leaders Sheffield Eagles on Sunday (KO 17:15) with three of the club’s talented youngsters included for the first time in a league fixture.

Alex Donaghy, Isaac Nokes and Nathan Clemmitt are the players in question, with Nokes set to make his first team debut, while Donaghy is set to play in the league for the first time, having previously made his first team debut in the Betfred Challenge Cup in 2020.

With Alex Clegg also included, Sunday could see a total of four products from the Thunder academy involved in a Betfred Championship fixture.

Elsewhere, captain Bob Beswick’s recovery from off season knee surgery sees him in line for a first involvement of the season, whilst Cian Tyrer and Joe Brown complete the new faces in the refreshed roster.

Taking place behind closed doors, fans can enjoy all the action against the Eagles via the RFL's OURLEAGUE app.
