MATCH DAY GUIDE - THUNDER V WORKINGTON

All you need to know to make the most of Sunday Afternoon Rugby at Kingston Park

Betfred Championship rugby league action returns to Kingston Park Stadium this Sunday afternoon when Newcastle Thunder takes on Workington Town.

Thunder are aiming to make it five wins in a row over the West Cumbrians while Town are searching for a second win of the campaign and take a further step towards Betfred Championship survival.

It promises to be an entertaining afternoon of live sport with a total of three rugby league games covered by your ticket. This is our handy guide to making sure you make the most of your day.

11.30 - Turnstiles / Supporter facilities open

12:30 – Kick-off, Veteran’s Curtain Raiser fixture.

14:30 – Pre-match warm-ups

14:59 – Team entry

15:00 – Kick off (Thunder v Workington)

15:40* – Half Time / Thunder Bolt Challenge

15:55* – Kick off, second half 

16:35* – Full Time

17:10 – Man of the Match presentation (Tap & Tackle / 1877)

17:15 – Kick off (Thunder Reserves v Wakefield Trinity Reserves)

17:55 – Half time

18:05 – Kick off, second half

18:45 – Full time

Team – Thunder have named a 21-man squad ahead of Sunday’s game showing five changes from the roster announced ahead of the trip to Batley Bulldogs. Find out who is in and out here

Match tickets – Tickets for Sunday’s game are available to book now either in person at the Kingston Park Stadium box office, online by clicking here or by calling 0191 214 5588 (opt 1)

All tickets are priced at £15 for adults, £10 for concessions, £8 for young adults and £3 for juniors for this fixture up until turnstiles open on Sunday.

Match-day ticket purchases – Tickets will be available to purchase on arrival at the stadium on Sunday from 11:30 at the south-west entrance of the West Stand.

Full match day pricing will be in effect with adults priced at £20, concessions £15, YAS (16-24-year-olds) £10 and Under 16s £5

PLEASE NOTE Card payments only for ticket purchases made at the ground.

Reserves: Sunday’s match is a Thunder double-header with the reserves in action against Wakefield Trinity following the first team match.

Entry is included with match tickets for the main game and fans will be able to watch the game from the East Stand seats.

Stadium access – Entry to the stadium will be via the entrances located at the south end of the West Stand. The ground will open to spectators from 11:30.

Getting Here - Stadium car parking for Sunday’s match will be available on the day priced at £5 per vehicle and on a first-come first-served basis. Season ticket holders may park free of charge.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  Extensive roadworks are in place at the crossroads of Windsor Way and Brunton Lane with five-way lights controlling traffic at this junction.

Supporters are urged to approach the Stadium and join Brunton Road either from Main Road / Ponteland Road at Kenton Bank Foot or from Kingston Park Road.

Kingston Park Stadium is well served by local public transport services, with Stagecoach’s X47 service from Newcastle city centre stopping opposite the ground on Windsor Way and Tyne & Wear Metro services on the airport line calling at Kingston Park and Bank Foot (approx. 7mins walk away).

Tap & Tackle – We are delighted to confirm the Tap & Tackle is now back open as a public bar and supporters are welcome to this on matchday.

Open from Noon until late on Sundays, the Tap & Tackle will be available to supporters both pre-and post-match.

Food & Drink - Supporters can enjoy a wide range of food and drink options at the ground on Sunday, with all facilities located on the West Stand concourse.

Our bars will be using re-usable stack cups on the day.

Merchandise – The Newcastle Thunder club shop will also be operating from the West Stand on 2022 Thunder match days where supporters will be able to purchase the club’s new 2022 replica kits and items from our 2022 leisure range by Macron.

From hoodies and team hats to training T-shirts and jackets, be sure to call in and add items from our new season look to your Thunder collection.

The West Stand shop will open in line with the rest of supporter facilities from 11:30.
