NEWCASTLE THUNDER NAME SQUAD FOR DEWSBURY

20-man roster named ahead of Betfred Championship round six.

Nathan Clemmitt is in line for a first involvement of the season when Newcastle Thunder take on Dewsbury Rams this Sunday, with the academy graduate named in the 20-man squad for the trip to the Tetley’s Stadium (KO 3pm)

The Cramlington Rockets product is included after successfully completed rehab from a long-term injury and having featured for the club’s reserve grade and is one of seven home grown talents named by Thunder.

Elsewhere, returning half-back Dan Coates is included after completing a move from London Broncos, Mitch Clark and Brad Gallagher return from suspension while Connor Bailey and Jack Johnson return to fitness.

Coates’ arrival is well timed, with skipper Josh Woods ruled out following ankle surgery that is likely to keep him from playing for a number of weeks.

Johnson meanwhile is included for the first time in four weeks, after successfully recuperating from the hamstring tear picked up at the end of the 40 -24 win over Whitehaven.
