#NewEra chat - Jake Anderson
A rapid rise through the Newcastle Thunder ranks has continued for Jake Anderson this off season, with the 19-year-old prop now a member of the club's full-time, first team squad.
The Gateshead born lad is the latest local talent to graduate from the club's academy after the 18-year-old impressed in four Betfred Championship outings during 2021.
A product of community club Gateshead Storm, Anderson earned his starts through his performances and work ethic within the junior ranks.
Performing admirably against Featherstone Rovers, York City Knights, Dewsbury Rams and Bradford Bulls, Anderson showed well against vastly more experienced players.
As a result, he will take his place in the main Thunder changing room when pre-season commences on November 1.
Following the announcement of his signing, Anderson sat down with Thunder TV, the club's official YouTube channel to reflect on what has been a whirlwind couple of months.
Check out the full interview above to find out his thoughts on the speed of his rise through the ranks, his experiences in 2021 and what he feels being part of a full-time environment can do for his further development.
