NEWCASTLE THUNDER NAME SQUAD FOR BRADFORD

Bob Beswick is set to make an eagerly-anticipated return from injury this weekend, with Thunder’s captain named in the 21-man squad for Saturday’s visit of Bradford Bulls (KO 5pm)

One of three changes to the squad named ahead of last weekend’s trip to Halifax, Thunder are also able to call on the services of Wigan duo Sam Halsall and Matty Nicholson who head to Kingston Park Stadium on loan ahead of this weekend’s match.

Making five appearances in Thunder colours to date, Halsall scored a feel-good, crowd-pleasing try in June’s win over Oldham RLFC before returning to his parent club to feature in the Super League wins over Huddersfield, Leigh and Salford.

Nicholson meanwhile comes in from the academy set up at the DW Stadium and is set for his first involvement for the club.

The trio come in for Jay Chapelhow, Cole Oakley and Kyle Trout.

Following a solid display against the four-time Super League winners at Odsal back in May, Thunder will be looking to make home advantage count and convert performance into points and take their first win over the Bulls at first team level.

Tickets for Saturday’s game remain on sale and can be booked by clicking here or from the East Stand stadium box office on match-day.

Supporters are strongly encouraged to book in advance via the eticketing site, with tickets sent electronically to be shown at the turnstiles to gain entry.
