Players required for Origin sides

19th October 2017

Just over a fortnight remains until the 2017 North East Origin series kicks off at Kingston Park Stadium, with players now being recruited for both the North and South of Tyne teams.

The battle to settle the age old debate which has torn families, friends and relationships apart, which side of the river Tyne is best to hail from, is again a three match series in 2017, with kick off on November 3 at 19:30.

With players drawn from local rugby league clubs and lining up for the team from the bank where their first ever club lies, North East Origin offers an additional opportunity for the rugby league family to gather and enjoy games during the winter.

After the inaugural fixture ended in an honourable draw, 2016 saw the North of Tyne side seal bragging rights with a 2-1 series win under the guidance of Keith Christie, with Clarke determined to redress the balance in favour of the South.

Thunder co-captains Joe Brown and Rhys Clarke will be at the reins of the North and South Tyne sides respectively and with whom interested players should get in contact about playing in this year’s series.
