NEWCASTLE THUNDER MOODY CUP NOW OPEN FOR ENTRIES

Grassroots clubs invited to sign up for exciting days of rugby league at Kingston Park this August

Newcastle Thunder's Moody Cup will be bigger and better than ever when it returns to Kingston Park Stadium this summer, with two festivals now taking place to satisfy demand from teams wanting to take part.

Welcoming the junior rugby league community from across the UK to play in one of the biggest ever grassroots festivals in the North-East, the festival is supported by Cramlington based Moody Logistics and Storage for the seventh year.

Growing in stature since its launch back in 2015, this year's events will take place over two consecutive weekends, with a festival event being held for U7s to U10 teams ahead of the Betfred Championship clash with London Broncos on Sunday August 7 and a cup competition for U12s - U16s ahead of the following week's visit of Leigh Centurions.

As well as enjoying a superb playing experience, all participants receive a complimentary match ticket from the Newcastle Thunder game that follows, while family and friends watching can join the young players in the stands with specially discounted tickets that allow participants to add to the great atmosphere at Kingston Park.

The Moody Cup events are open to all grassroots clubs with the 2021 edition welcoming teams from across the North East and Cumbria as well as Yorkshire and Lancashire and are free to enter.

Matches across all age groups are nine-a-side with no maximum number of players per squad.

All entries must be received by Friday 29th July by 16:00. For more information or to request a team entry form for your club, please contact community@newcastle-thunder.co.uk or call 07764933300.
