Thunder secure Ritson for 2018

27th October 2017

Newcastle Thunder will welcome a new strike runner into the 2018 playing squad, after agreeing a deal that brings talented Cumbrian fullback Theerapol Ritson in to Kingston Park Stadium.

The 24-year-old speedster is a product of the Cumbria Academy structure and makes the move from his home town club having made his debut for Workington Town back in 2013.

Establishing himself as a first team regular during 2016, Ritson’s pace and ability to break opposition defences has proven to be a potent weapon and one that Thunder head coach Jason Payne is pleased to be able to add into his arsenal.

Qualifying internationally for Thailand by virtue of his mother, Ritson made a total of 12 appearances for Town in 2017, having missed the first four months of the season through injury, helping himself to seven tries.

Having been impressed by the ambition Thunder are showing for the future, Tee as he is known by team-mates and coaches is now looking forward to being part of the club’s plans.
